There are times we could all benefit from the experience of others. Not even the most successful people in our profession scaled those heights on their own; along the way they benefited from a generous and knowledgeable support system. And that’s exactly why we’ve created a brand new Mentoring Platform.
We welcome members that would like to become Mentors and/or Mentees to register an account and build a profile.
For Mentees
Our mentoring platform can help you with your career and professional development by matching you (the mentee) with suitable volunteer mentors based on your personal and professional development goals.
Your mentor will have experienced the challenges and opportunities associated with developing and progressing a career and will be able to advise and guide you. You may be starting out in the profession or need help identifying the next steps in your career. You may want support to upgrade your membership or apply for chartership. Or you may be facing work challenges that you need help to overcome.
For Mentors
As a volunteer mentor, you can share your knowledge and provide a supportive environment to guide someone in the early stages of their career or who is looking to progress. You may be able to help someone looking to upgrade their membership or apply for chartership. Or you may have experience of challenging work situations that you can draw on. Volunteering as a mentor can also help you develop professionally, re-define your own career goals and see things from a new perspective. It is a fantastic opportunity to give something back to your profession. It also counts towards your own CPD requirement.
Mentoring can be conducted face-to-face, by video conference (e.g. Skype) or telephone and can be a combination of all three approaches.

Mentors and Mentees will be matched using an algorithm based on the information that is entered on their profiles. The platform allows you to connect with your mentor/mentee and revisit the platform as the mentoring relationship progresses. Once matched, we recommend mentors and mentees make contact for a couple of hours each month, but there is no minimum or maximum commitment or length of mentoring relationship.
