Join CIEEM

People that join CIEEM work for a wide range of ecological/environmental employers in many varied roles, from surveying and analysing field data to providing high level input into environmental policy. Our membership also varies greatly in terms of professional standing, from chief executives and directors of large organisations to students and apprentices who are studying and developing their skills before entering the sector professionally.

The diversity of this unique mix of members is one of our core strengths and makes networking with us a particularly worthwhile and stimulating experience. Our members are practitioners in ecology and environmental management and are bound by a strongly held Code of Professional Conduct, which brings an ethical dimension to their work. We also require members to maintain and develop their skills through Continuing Professional Development. If this appeals to you, we may well be your natural professional home.

Because we represent the views and expertise of an informed, engaged and committed body of members, we can work with other professional bodies, learned societies, associations and NGOs to hold governments to account. We strive for the continued improvement and implementation of environmental legislation and ensure that messages are clear and unequivocal in terms of what needs to be done to safeguard and enhance the environment.

If you join CIEEM you will become part of the leading professional body representing ecologists and environmental managers in the UK, Ireland and abroad. You will also be supporting our mission to raise the profile of the profession and to promote the highest standards of practice for the benefit of nature and society.
