Applying for Chartership

CIEEM’s Chartered members are well-established professionals with the knowledge and experience to deliver complex, specialist projects. They may also lead teams, mentor young professionals, and possibly deliver formal education to others.  Indeed many of our most experienced members are recognised by their peers as authorities in their field.

These members speak at our events, contribute to our publications, help to shape our work and guide our policy, and can gain increased professional recognition through two different types of Chartership status: Chartered Ecologist and/or Chartered Environmentalist.  To find out more about chartership and becoming a chartered member of CIEEM follow the links below.

Chartered Ecologist (CEcol)

The Register of Chartered Ecologists recognises the effective application of knowledge and understanding of the science of ecology by professionals committed to the highest standards of practice.

Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv)

CIEEM is one of 24 Constituent bodies licensed by the Society for the Environment to award Chartered Environmentalist status. CEnv is a recognised standard of good environmental practice.
