Woodland Management for Bats

This good practice guide gives general principles and practical advice to assist in the management of woodland to balance the needs of bats and the diverse objectives of woodland managers, while recognising potentially conflicting management interests and objectives.

The guide examines the management of woodland in blocks or stands, ranging in size from an avenue of trees to large wooded landscapes. It is designed to help sustain entire bat populations in woodland habitats, rather than focusing on each individual bat roost.

This is part of our Good Practice Guidance for Bats, produced by Becky Collins.
