Regional Environment Advisor (Forestry and Land Scotland)

Forestry and Land Scotland is looking for a Regional Environment Advisor to join our team in the South Region. This is a permanent, full-time role with flexible office location options.

In this varied role, you will provide environmental expertise and advice to the regional team, contributing to land management planning and programming of future works. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring the environment team
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental laws and optimizing environmental benefits
  • Collaborating with regional and national teams to develop sustainable work processes
  • Coordinating surveys and site visits for environmental projects
  • Identifying external funding and partnership opportunities
  • Contributing to land management planning for biodiversity enhancement

The South Region, covering areas from the Tweed Valley to the island of Arran, is the largest timber producer among FLS regions. The region also focuses on woodland creation, habitat restoration, and peatland restoration.
