Principal/Associate Ecologist – Cheltenham/Elkstone

The Role

Benefiting from working in a multidisciplinary consultancy team, you will be responsible for project management across a range of projects, providing effective technical support to your colleagues and clients alike, whilst delivering excellent client care. You will be a self-motivated, pragmatic, and solution-focussed individual with proven experience in consultancy and be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment, such as through the line management and mentoring of colleagues. Technical strengths in botany, Biodiversity Net Gain, ornithology, and/or Habitats Regulations Assessment are particularly sought after.

Your Skills

You will have a relevant degree and a thorough understanding of the current planning system and environmental legislation. You will have a high level of technical expertise and project management experience in ecological consultancy and be a member of CIEEM.  Whilst establishing a solid professional reputation in your current role, you will be aspiring to develop further your expertise within a multidisciplinary consultancy whilst strengthening your client base and commercial understanding of the business. You will be effective at working on your own and as part of a 30+ strong ecology team, assisting in the delivery of training, mentoring and line management of the team. A full, valid UK driving licence is essential and access to a vehicle for business use preferred.
