Scottish Environment Secretary to Stand Down Before Next Election

The Scottish Environment Secretary, Roseanna Cunningham, has announced that she will not be standing for re-election to parliament next year.

Ms Cunningham was first elected to stand for Perthshire South and Kinross-shire in 1995. In a statement the Minister said: said: “It has been a massive honour to represent my constituents in both Westminster and Scottish Parliament for 25 years and to be able to serve my country as a cabinet secretary in the Scottish Parliament.”

The Environment Secretary has also covered fair work and community safety in cabinet positions and was previously the deputy leader of the SNP.
