Revised Building with Nature Standards Published

Following a rigorous cross-sector review, the Building with Nature Partnership has published revised Green Infrastructure Standards designed to recognise high-quality green infrastructure, whilst simplifying the assessment process, making it easier for industry to adopt an approach that puts nature at the heart of decision making.

The number of Standards has been reduced from 23 to 12 across the themes of Wellbeing, Water, and Wildlife. A new standalone Climate Standard has been included, whilst a strengthened Standard relating to long-term management and maintenance of green infrastructure will ensure that Building with Nature users stay ahead of the curve in terms of designing and delivering places which allow people and wildlife to flourish, now and long into the future.

CIEEM has been involved in the review and welcomes the changes, which we feel will make the Building with Nature scheme more accessible whilst promoting high standards of green infrastructure design and delivery.
