Watch this very interesting talk from Dr Fran Giaquinto who discussed invasive fungal tree diseases, their impact on biodiversity and actions to control them.
Although most ecologists and the public are fully familiar with invasive species, there is only limited awareness of invasive alien fungal tree pathogens and the impact these are having on tree planting programmes and the protection and enhancement of biodiversity. This talk explains the current status of invasive tree diseases in Britain and Ireland, describes the problems associated with them, and highlights the actions we can take to control them.
