Booking Terms and Conditions

When booking an event with us you are reserving a place and signing up to the terms and conditions detailed below. You will receive an automated email to confirm your booking has been made and if there is a cost associated with the event, either confirmation of your payment or an invoice.

Provision of a Purchase Order number

If you select to provide a purchase order (PO) number, we will reserve your space(s) for 14 days from the date of booking, after which time, the space(s) will be released if the PO number is not provided. If no PO is provided, the booking will be considered cancelled and the cancellation terms will apply.

Cancellation of a booking

All cancellations must be received in writing and the following cancellation rates apply:

  • A 75% refund (or invoice issued if ‘cancellation’ is due to PO number not being supplied) will be issued for cancellations received at least eight weeks before the event.
  • A 50% refund (or invoice issued if ‘cancellation’ is due to PO number not being supplied) will be issued for cancellations received between eight weeks and four weeks before the event.
  • If a cancellation is made within four weeks of the event, the event fee is payable in full and no refund will be issued (or invoice issued if ‘cancellation’ is due to PO number not being supplied), nor can the booking be transferred to an alternative event.
  • Please note that for the Early Careers Training Programme, once a place has been booked, then this is non-refundable. Please see below for further details.

Substitutions

If you find that you can no longer attend an event, you can substitute your place for a colleague for an additional fee of £15. Please note that swapping a CIEEM member for a non-CIEEM member will incur payment of any difference between the respective rates. Please either email training@cieem.net or phone the office if you wish to make a substitution.

CIEEM cancellation of an event

We reserve the right to alter or cancel any event for whatever reason.

In the event of cancellation or postponement, we will endeavor to inform all delegates in writing at least two weeks before the event is due to take place, but please be aware that this is not always possible.

All event fees paid will be refunded in full, or the payment can be transferred in full to another event should you wish.

CIEEM shall not accept any liability for any consequential loss and shall have no liability to reimburse any other costs that may have been incurred, including transport costs, accommodation etc.

Early Careers Training Programme

Please note that for the Early Careers Training Programme, once a place has been booked, then this is non-refundable and also non-transferable to other delegates/staff in your organisation. We would encourage employers to have a contract in place with delegates/staff to cover the scenario if the delegate/staff left the organisation or are otherwise unable to continue with the training programme.

When booking on a training course as an option module for the Early Careers Training Programme, CIEEMs booking terms and conditions would apply. If a delegate does not attend an option module they are booked on and have not informed CIEEM that they are unable to attend beforehand, this would count as one of their option modules. To attend a later version of the module, payment of the module fee would be required.

Accessibility Requirements

Please do let us know of any accessibility requirements that you may have, either during the booking process, or by emailing training@cieem.net at least a week in advance of the training, and we will do our best to work with the trainer and cater to your needs.

VAT

As our training courses and conferences are classed as ‘Education’, the delegate fees are out of the scope of VAT and therefore exempt.

Where accommodation or meals are charged separately, these are normally at the Standard Rate of VAT. If they are charged separately, this will be detailed on the event webpage.
