In February this year, HM Treasury published The Economics of Biodiversity: The Dasgupta Review, led by Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta. This review looked at how to embed our economies within Nature, and makes recommendations on changing our institutions and our measures of economic success so that our demands on Nature do not exceed supply.

Meanwhile the countries of the world will gather in China in October this year for the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP) meeting of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity. The UK is working with other countries on biodiversity, and in advance of the upcoming G7 meeting, the science academies of the G7 nations have published a statement on urgent action needed to reverse biodiversity loss.

This webinar will explore the economics and science of biodiversity, consider national and international action needed and the potential for agreement at the Biodiversity COP in October.

This online webinar is free to attend and will be hosted using Zoom.
