Taskforce Launch Green Recovery Plan for Wales

The Green Recovery Task and Finish Group, chaired by the Chair of Natural Resources Wales Sir David Henshaw, has presented the ‘Green Recovery: Priorities for Action’ report (Cymraeg) to the Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs, Lesley Griffiths, calling for “a bold and rapid green recovery from the coronavirus pandemic by placing the circular economy and the climate and nature emergencies at its heart.”

The report outlines the practical and prioritised actions that will inform Wales’ sustainable pathway out of the coronavirus pandemic, including long-term investment in Nature-based Solutions such as peatland restoration and restoration of marine habitats, as well as investing in skills and training, for example through developing new higher education courses.

The members of the Taskforce have now committed to forming a Green Recovery Delivery Partnership and will lead another call for proposals in February 2021.
