At the CIEEM Scotland Member Network event Liz McLachlan, NatureScot’s Licensing Manager, provided updates on changes or development in Species Licensing in Scotland and ideas being considered for future changes.
Liz McLachlan has worked for NatureScot for over 20 years as an Area Officer and Licensing Manager. She has a wide range of experience in dealing with a wide variety of land use management including major and national development management projects (transmission lines, pump storage schemes and renewables projects); designated sites (SSSI’s, SAC, SPA, NNR); wildlife management including protected species. She currently oversees all NatureScot Licensing function including the development of new licensing approaches for Hunting with Dogs Act 2023 and the Wildlife Management and Muirburn Bill which is currently going through Scottish Parliament.
