CIEEM Webinar – STEM: Inspiring the Next Generation

There are over 37,000 STEM Ambassadors and just over 1% of these are thought to be working in the ecological and environmental sector. Our sector is therefore vastly underrepresented in schools and with your help we are keen to change this.

We are working with STEM Learning Ltd to help raise the profile of careers in ecology and environmental management amongst secondary school pupils to help attract more young people into the sector and to help address the future skills gap. We are looking to encourage CIEEM members to sign up to become a STEM Ambassador to help increase the representation of ecologists and environmental managers and also to help develop some curriculum linked resources and activities that can be used when engaging with schools.

During this webinar, Daniel Smith who is a Project Officer at STEM Learning Ltd, will be providing an overview of the STEM Ambassador Programme and explaining how you can become involved. A panel of CIEEM members who are STEM Ambassadors will be talking about their experience of being a STEM Ambassador and there will be a Q&A session for you to ask the panel any questions you may have about the role and how it can also benefit you.
