Rebecca Pow MP Named Minister at Defra

Following the promotion of Thérèse Coffey to Work and Pensions Secretary, Zac Goldsmith has been named Minister of State for the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Department for International Development, while Rebecca Pow, formerly a Junior Minister for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, has been named Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at Defra.

Zac Goldsmith will be responsible for expanding protected areas in the UK’s overseas territories, addressing the illegal wildlife trade and incorporating nature conservation into international aid.

Rebecca Pow has previously served as a permanent private secretary in Defra, sat on the Environmental Audit Committee and actively engages with environmental issues.
