New guidance for bats and onshore wind turbines (Scotland)
Scottish Natural Heritage has published new guidance for bats and onshore wind turbines, including survey, assessment and mitigation.
The guidance updates best practice information for developers, planners and ecological consultants to ensure that onshore wind energy developments post minimal risk to bats. It is not intended for use in relation to single wind turbines, micro installations or offshore wind farms, although some aspects of the guidance may be relevant.
The guidance document is available for download here.
