Natural England launches water vole strategic licensing pilot

Natural England has this week launched a new water vole strategic licensing pilot.
The pilot is seeking to deliver landscape scale interventions to improve water vole conservation status and a streamlined regulatory system for licence applicants.  
The pilot is optional and will initially accept enquiries for one year in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Thurrock and Southend-On-Sea. All other existing water vole licensing routes will also remain available within the pilot area.
