Launch of the Diverse Sustainability Initiative
The Diverse Sustainability Initiative is a new collaborative programme of work with the vision to transform diversity within the sustainability profession and wider environment sector. The overall goal is to build a profession and sector that, over time, is reflective of modern Britain by using education, connection and transparency.
CIEEM, along with a number of environmental organisations has signed up to the Diverse Sustainability Initiative (DSI); a new collaborative sector-wide programme of work with the vision to transform diversity within the environment and sustainability profession.
In addition to CIEEM, partners in the DSI include IEMA (who are coordinating the initiative), the Society for the Environment, IES, Green Alliance, Bat Conservation Trust and the RSPB. Each organisation is pledging to commitments to provide opportunities and to encourage the next generation of diverse professionals to join the environment sector. By signing up with DSI, we are making a public commitment to improve diversity within our industry, being accountable and making a positive difference to bring about change.
Find out more about the DSI, how it began, its overall goal and plans, our collective approach to transforming diversity and how you can get involved.
