Ecologist

 Salary – £30,000-35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours – Full time 37.50 hours per week

Location – Stocksfield, Northumberland

We are an established ecology consultancy based in Northumberland covering all of the North East, Cumbria and Yorkshire.

OS Ecology are looking for an experienced ecologist to join our busy team for the 2026 season due to increased workload.

You will work alongside our team of ecologists and directors to do both fieldwork and report writing.

You should be a team player, well organised, like to be outside and a good communicator.

Requirements

Full UK driving licence with own car.

Qualified to degree level in Ecology (or relevant field)

2 year consultancy experience

Excellent level written, oral and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Available to work evenings for survey work.

 Desirable skills

Experience in zoology & botany

Experience with BNG

Botanical knowledge with FISC score of 3 or above

Interested in protected species.

GIS experience

GCN and bat licence or working towards gaining them.
