Environmental Information Regulations Decision Rules In Favour of Leicestershire & Rutland Environmental Records Centre
On 14th October, the Information Commissioner’s Office ruled in favour of Leicestershire & Rutland Environmental Records Centre (LRERC) in regards to charges for a data request.
The complainant had requested an environmental records search for protected sites and species in a 2km radius from a grid reference, and, following the production of the report, complained to the Commissioner that the charge was excessive.
The data request was by an ecological consultant for commercial use in planning.
The Commissioner ruled that the charge of £445.50 was in accordance with Environmental Information Regulations and requires no steps from Leicestershire County Council.
