CIEEM Volunteer Elections 2023: FINAL CALL for Nominations!
We are still open for nominations for the 2023 Member Network, Governing Board and Advisory Forum Elections (extended deadline until Wednesday 18th October). Note that every geographic section has multiple roles available, so please do get involved. We are especially interested in hearing from you if you are based in Wales, the East Midlands or North East England, so don’t hesitate to send us a nomination. Who do our Geographic Section Member Networks need?
CIEEM are looking for volunteers to join the committees of its geographic section Member Networks. These groups aim to connect those in the ecology and environmental management sector together to network, share knowledge and experiences, and to encourage and deliver positive steps to support biodiversity and climate action within their region / country. Crucially, Member Network committee members volunteer their time to provide a platform to share and celebrate regional and national successes, through the medium of field trips, webinars and socials. Who does our Advisory Forum need?
Our Advisory Forum meets biannually and is made up of elected members and representatives of our committees and Member Networks. Their role is to provide advice to the Governing Board on internal matters affecting our members, new projects and initiatives. If you have experience and expertise build up from time spent within our sector (or indeed elsewhere), then we could really use your help to keep our CIEEM ship steady and sailing in the right direction.

Who does our Governing Board need?
We have one role for an Ordinary Member of the Governing Board (that is due for re-election), and there are two Officer roles that are open for Vice-president elects (Ireland and Wales).
At CIEEM, we are incredibly fortunate to be led by a Governing Board of dedicated volunteers, elected by the members and chaired by the President. Our Governing Board includes our four Vice Presidents, Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Company Secretary, together with five elected members. The Governing Board provides strategic leadership and direction whilst also ensuring good governance and effective control. Please note that only Full or Fellow Members are eligible for nominations to the Governing Board.
