CIEEM has written to congratulate Rt Hon Dame Angela Eagle MP on her appointment as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, highlighting the role of qualified ecologists in delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) and in supporting farmers and land managers through habitat banking. The letter calls for ecological expertise to be represented on Defra’s Infrastructure Board and offers CIEEM’s support as BNG for NSIPs moves into implementation.
