CBD Embraces Edinburgh Declaration

Following CIEEM’s endorsement of the Edinburgh Declaration, the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has formally published a paper on the Edinburgh Declaration, which embeds the Edinburgh Declaration in the CBD process as we move towards COP15 and the agreement of a new Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).

The Edinburgh Declaration describes the process for subnational and local governments on the development of the post-2020 GBF and its outcomes, and provides draft recommendations on engagement with subnational governments, cities and other local authorities to enhance the implementation of the post-2020 GBF. It was prepared by the Scottish Government and partners in the Edinburgh Process.
