£200 million for Innovative Flood Solutions in England
The UK Government has announced £200 million for innovative solutions to tackle flooding in England such as sustainable drainage systems and nature-based solutions like temporary or permanent water storage areas which also boost wildlife.
This will be directed at 25 areas at risk of flooding to test and demonstrate actions to adapt to the climate emergency and improve resilience.
The funding is part of a wider £5.2 billion long-term plan to tackle the risks of flooding and coastal erosion.
