Welsh First Minister Announces New Climate Change Ministry in Cabinet Re-Shuffle
Wales’ First Minister, Mark Drakeford, has announced the formation of a new climate change ministry (Cymraeg), headed by Julie James as Minister for Climate Change.
The brief of the climate change role will bring together the environment, energy, housing, planning and transport portfolios as the First Minister has promised Climate change, new green jobs and recovery from the pandemic will be at the heart of decision making. Julie James will also be supported by Lee Waters as Deputy Minister for Climate Change.
Lesley Griffiths has remained as Minister or Rural Affairs.
