Development of a Cost-Effective Method for Monitoring the Effectiveness of Mitigation for Bats Crossing Linear Transport Infrastructure

The aim of this project is to provide a systematic and standardised methodology for assessing the impact of road and rail construction on bat populations. Note: this report’s advice and conclusion differ from those in Collins (2016) and O’Connor & Green (2011), but it is not known whether the conclusions of this research are accepted by UK highways authorities.

This is part of our Good Practice Guidance for Bats, produced by Becky Collins.
