Senior/Principal Ecologists, Cirencester & Cheltenham
The Environmental Dimension Partnership (EDP) is a well-established and successful environmental planning consultancy operating throughout England and Wales, with offices based in Cirencester, Cheltenham and Cardiff. We are a broad-based practice with experience in all areas of professional ecological consultancy, in addition to offering landscape, heritage and archaeology, arboriculture and masterplanning services. We deliver bespoke, creative solutions to our clients in the residential, commercial, energy and renewables sectors.
We have exciting opportunities for self-motivated and enthusiastic ecologists to join our Ecology Team. Based out of our Cirencester or Cheltenham offices you will benefit from working with a multidisciplinary consultancy team whilst providing technical project management across a range of project sizes, types and complexities.
We are looking for positive and solution-focussed ecologists at Senior or Principal level, holding a relevant degree and appropriate post-graduate qualification. Candidates who hold survey licenses and have experience in European Protected Species Mitigation Licensing, with an expertise in bats, dormouse, botany or ornithology in particular, are encouraged to apply. Candidates with strong project management experience are also highly sought after.
The successful candidates will have a sound understanding of the current planning system and environmental legislation, have, or be eligible for, full membership with CIEEM, and be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment, playing a role in the mentoring, training and line management of team members where appropriate, in addition to maintaining the high quality of outputs across the team.
In addition to the right qualifications and experience you will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be personable, innovative and proactive. You will be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, and hold a full, valid UK driving licence. EDP are a flexible employer and due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and we are working from home where possible. Due to this, interviews will be held virtually over Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
The salary for this post is to be agreed based on qualifications and experience and will form part of an excellent benefits package, including: pension contributions; private health insurance; 30 days annual leave allowance (+ bank holidays); and a profit share bonus scheme.
