While this job is primarily based in our London office, as part of our commitment to work-life balance, we offer a true 4-day working week with no additional hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA)
- Roost Assessments and Bat Emergence Surveys
- Delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments
- Undertaking bat surveys (and other protected species surveys depending on qualifications)
- Preparing Ecological Impact Assessments and Ecological Management Plans (EMP).
- Balancing fieldwork and desk-based tasks efficiently.
- Advising clients on compliance.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Associate or Full Membership of CIEEM.
- At least three years’ consultancy experience
- Strong understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain principles and metrics, with enthusiasm for further learning.
- Proven experience in UK Habitats Classification, PEA surveys, and protected species surveys.
- Competency in using QGIS and producing high-quality reports
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to manage positive client relationships
- A proactive, organised, and independent approach to work, including the ability to manage a junior team member.
- Willingness to work outdoors and during unsociable hours, particularly in bat survey season (April–October).
- Bat Survey licence (Level 1)
- Great Crested Newt (Level 1)
- A full UK driving licence
