Senior and Principal Ecologists (EDP)

We are seeking personable, innovative and proactive ecologists at Senior and Principal grades, to join our EDP Ecology Team! You will be based out of our Cirencester, Cheltenham or Cardiff offices, and benefit from working with a multidisciplinary consultancy team whilst providing technical project management across a range of project sizes, types and complexities.

The Environmental Dimension Partnership (EDP) is a well-established environmental planning consultancy operating throughout England and Wales, with offices based in Cirencester, Cheltenham and Cardiff. We are a broad-based practice with experience in all areas of professional ecological consultancy, in addition to offering landscape, heritage and archaeology, arboriculture and masterplanning services. We deliver bespoke, creative solutions to our clients in the residential, commercial, energy and renewables sectors.

The ideal candidate will be passionate, solution-focussed, and pragmatic, with proven consultancy experience and excellent management and reporting skills necessary to deliver technical and professional project management. You will have strong technical abilities in designing and conducting habitat and species surveys, habitat management and mitigation design. Candidates who hold relevant protected species survey licences and have experience in mitigation licensing, or have a particular technical expertise such as in bats, dormouse or botany are encouraged to apply. Candidates with strong project management experience are also highly sought after.

You will have a relevant degree, a thorough understanding of the current planning system and environmental legislation, and have, or be eligible for membership with CIEEM. You will be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment, assisting in the mentoring and management of colleagues, and be effective at working on your own and as part of a team. A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
