Permanent, full-time (35-hour week)

Salary is £38,060 – £43,460 per annum inclusive of Outer London Weighting

The City of London Corporation has recently launched its 6-year Climate Action Strategy. The City Corporation owns and manages over 4,450 hectares of London’s open spaces, which now form a key element of this high-profile strategy. We are looking for an experienced project manager who has a proven track record in planning, delivering, and monitoring of land/habitat restoration projects which focus on carbon capture. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and technical understanding of ecosystem services and nature-based solution approaches to conservation projects.

You will have excellent organisational, communication and numerical skills and be proficient at writing and presenting reports and project documentation. You will be experienced in targeted delivery as well as procuring and managing contractors, consultants and stakeholders. You will be comfortable analysing scientific reports and data to inform project development and adopt innovative practical solutions that will achieve ecological restoration and habitat creation. You will be an experienced budget and people manager and have a passion for nature conservation and environmental issues.

Initially focussed on Epping Forest and its buffer lands, which comprise nearly 3,242 hectares, the project is expected to expand over its 6-year lifespan onto other City Corporation open spaces.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and an Enhanced DBS is needed for this post.
