INCA (Industry Nature Conservation Association)- Principal, Senior and Ecologist Roles
With summer finally arriving, so is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a small, well respected, not for profit, ecological organisation, based in the heart of a unique and dynamic landscape. We are encouraging ecologists with a wide variety of skills and experience to contact us and explore what the future might have to offer for you here at INCA.
INCA is a unique organisation, created from industry to help to ensure that the landscapes of the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire continue to serve as one of the most biodiverse and economically active areas in the country. INCA has worked in the estuary for over 30 years and has been the go-to organisation for industries ecological needs. This area is currently seeing one of the greatest times of change in recent years, with ambitious environmental goals for Net Zero and an energy transition to renewable and secure energy.
We would like to attract ambitious, skilled and experienced ecologists to discuss joining our organisation, which is uniquely part-funded through membership by industry, regulators and other local environmental organisations. We are therefore looking for people who are friendly with excellent communication skills, to help cultivate relationships. Ideally you will also have had a variety of experience, including leading ecological projects through planning, completing Habitat Regulations Assessments, UK Habitats classifications for BNG and dealing with designated sites legislation.
INCA has responsibility for ensuring good ecological outcomes within a complex of SPA bird designations, SSSI saltmarsh and dune communities, alongside habitats ranging from ancient woodland and previously developed open mosaic habitats, to intertidal mudflats and species rich meadows. All of this within one of the most charismatic and dynamic landscapes anywhere in the UK, working alongside some of the most experienced and specialised ecologists in the region.
We offer highly flexible hybrid working arrangements within a small family focused team, able to work to our strengths and improve in other areas, especially in response to the rapidly changing world of ecology. We also offer a range of highly competitive salaries (£30 – 55K, depending on the role and experience), pension scheme, private health care and professional memberships, along with generous holidays (up to 30+ days annually + bank holidays).
Please phone Phil or Tracy on (01642) 777965 or 07944950543 for an informal discussion or email your CV, with a covering letter to phil.roxby@inca.uk.com
