Farm & Environment Consultant

CLM is a team of land, property and environment professionals, specialising in the rural sector. We support clients as varied as traditional estates, family farms, international land investors and viticulture start-ups, providing advice and services to unlock the full potential of their assets.

We are looking for a Farm & Environment consultant to provide a range of professional services to our diverse client base.

From supporting farmers with business guidance to giving developers ecological advice, this is a varied role, potentially spanning a wide range of rural land management topics.

About you

We envisage the successful candidate will come from one of two backgrounds. Either:

  • Farm management / consultancy / rural practice surveying, OR
  • Ecology / conservation

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be passionate about integrating environmental management into farm and estate businesses
  • A familiarity with at least some of the following: Basic Payment Scheme applications, planning and development, the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, habitat/biodiversity projects, grants, natural capital and biodiversity net gain
  • Have the drive to engage with emerging Agricultural Transition Plan opportunities, including Test and Trial work and landscape-scale Farm Cluster groups
  • Have a solid understanding of legislation, policy and the planning process
  • Be able to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders in project delivery
  • Be educated to degree level
  • Own a car and have a full driving licence
