Would you like to help provide advice on environmental management of open and non-wooded habitats? If you are practical, creative and enjoy working with others; have a clear enthusiasm for sustainable management of the land; are keen to share your knowledge with others; and are interested in a job that gets you out and about in the forest…then this may be the job for you!
We are looking to recruit an Ecologist to join our team of specialists providing support and advice to staff in Forestry and Land Scotland. The post will specialise on non-wooded habitats (excluding peatlands), including priority and designated open habitats, open spaces associated with infrastructures and buildings and integrated open spaces in forests.
You will be encouraged to develop a culture of ‘no-net loss of biodiversity’ approach to management associated with these areas, and are expected to work closely with the wider business to encourage management of a range of habitats for biodiversity gain.
This is an exciting role where you can have a direct positive influence on sustainably managing a proportion of the 9% of Scotland’s land area to meet a variety of objectives.
