The Environmental Dimension Partnership (EDP) is a well-established environmental planning consultancy operating throughout England and Wales, with offices based in Cirencester, Cheltenham and Cardiff. We are a broad-based practice with experience in all areas of professional ecological consultancy, in addition to offering landscape, heritage and archaeology, arboriculture and masterplanning services. We deliver bespoke, creative solutions to our clients in the residential, commercial, energy and renewables sectors.
We are seeking a talented and self-motivated ecologist at consultant, senior or principal grade to join our Cirencester or Cheltenham office. You will benefit from working with a multidisciplinary consultancy team whilst providing technical project management across a range of project sizes, types and complexities.
The ideal candidate will be positive, solution-focused, and pragmatic, with proven consultancy experience and strong management and reporting skills necessary to deliver technical and professional project management. You will be comfortable working on small or major projects, contributing positively to their successful delivery through collaborative working, strong decision making and team work.
The successful candidate will be a confident field ecologist, with demonstrable experience of habitat and species surveys, habitat management/clerk of works role and mitigation design. Candidates who hold relevant protected species survey licences, have experience in mitigation licensing, or have a particular expertise in bats or ornithology are encouraged to apply. Candidates with strong project management experience are also highly sought after.
You should hold a relevant degree, have a sound understanding of the current planning system and environmental legislation, have, or be eligible for membership with CIEEM, and be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment.
In addition to the right qualifications and experience you will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be personable, innovative and proactive. You will be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, and hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
The salary for this post is to be agreed based on qualifications and experience and will form part of an excellent benefits package, including: pension contributions; private health insurance; 30 days annual leave allowance (+ bank holidays); and a profit share bonus scheme.
