Associate/Principal Ecologist (Biodiverse Consulting)

We’re seeking a passionate and focussed individual who shares our values and purpose – to balance business with biodiversity.

As our Technical Expert, you’ll work with our MD to support company growth and bring new services to market. You will lead and nurture our expanding ecology/arboricultural team and deliver complex and interesting projects alongside nationally significant companies across a range of sectors. You will bring your extensive experience and knowledge of ecology and consultancy to achieve the best possible outcomes for nature and clients, in a company that values its people.

Role

Provide the technical lead for projects, team and biodiversity services of the company

  • To bid, win and deliver a range of ecological survey, assessment and net gain projects that exceed client expectations without compromising your passion for wildlife and habitats
  • Alongside the MD lead safe, timely delivery of complex projects
  • Line management, training and mentoring

The successful candidate will have –

  • Extensive ecology consultancy experience
  • Demonstrable track record (min 3 years) of protected species licencing applications, including design and implementation of mitigation/compensation
  • Strong Biodiversity Net Assessment experience
  • Ability to critically analyse results and apply ecological knowledge
  • Environmental Net Gain & Natural Capital Assessment understanding
  • Line management
  • Associate CIEEM Member (min.)
  • Relevant degree(s)
  • 2 Protected Species Licence (Class 2 level preferable)
  • Detailed knowledge of Planning Regime and application of BS 42020
