The current outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) was first reported from Wuhan, China in late 2019. It has since spread around the world and the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that COVID-19 is a public health emergency of international concern, upgrading it to a worldwide pandemic in March 2020.
